The Smooth-banded Sister can be found nectaring from a variety of flowers. They can also be seen puddling on moist stumps of fallen trees.
This species is common to the rainforest and cloudforest.
After mating the female lays the eggs individually on the host plant.
There are several generations per year so adults can be seen at any time.
The Adelpha genera has 85 different species. The group as a whole is known as 'the Sisters' butterflies and are all fairly similar in their appearance. It takes some expertise to properly identify individual species.
